Kevin Muckle organizes a yearly golf tournament in honor of his daughter Madison, a cancer survivor. The proceeds of the tournament go to organizations and families fighting cancer. 2019’s recipient was the Michael Napoleone Memorial Foundation. The leaders of the Madisonation golf tournament present a check for $9,115 to the Foundation.

Thank you to Nate and Andrea Hugill, owners of M.O.M.’s (Maxwell’s on Main) in Doylestown, PA for once again opening their hearts and restaurant, and sharing their time and talent, to help families dealing with a pediatric cancer diagnosis. This year’s Beers for a Cure was another success and brings the total raised over the past 9 years to just shy of $60,000! Thank you to all of the breweries that donated and volunteered their time! Thank you OwowCow for joining us once again and donating their delicious ice cream! Thank you Minuteman Press in Doylestown for your advertising donation. The raffle was another huge hit this year! Thank you to the NYS Corrections and Youth Services Association (Region 1) for supporting the Michael Napoleone Memorial Foundation in our mission to Lend a Hand for Hope. At their symposium held at Genesee Community College on March 15, 2019, Julie Wolcott, First Deputy Superintendent at Attica Correctional Facility, presented the Foundation’s Treasurer, Joni Yaskulski, with a check for $2,000.
”The mission of the New York State Corrections and Youth Services (CAYSA) is to build bridges among agencies, associations and individuals working with offenders, victims, clients and their families. We promote professional development, we encourage innovative practices and we provide professional training to ensure our members and affiliates opportunities to provide a meaningful contribution to a better New York.”
The Michael Napoleone Memorial Foundation and Gilda’s Club of Rochester, along with assistance from Eli Fish Brewing Company of Batavia, teamed up for a joint fundraising event. “Hops for Hope” raised funds to assist those with cancer and their families with expenses. The day included musical entertainment, a cornhole competition, food and specialty beers. It was a fun atmosphere to enjoy on a mid-February afternoon.
The Napoleones gratefully accepted a gift of $1,000 from the Town of Batavia Fire Department at their annual awards banquet.
“It really started with the idea from the president, Scott Garlock, and his wife Lynn, just trying to do something different at this year’s banquet from what we’ve done previously. Instead of buying a small gift for everyone that attended, we decided we would take the money we normally spend and come up with a local charity to give that money to,” Fire Chief Dan Coffey said.
